Mastering negativity

,
I want to share with you how I stop negative thoughts.
The kind of negativity so brash it convinces you that you're not competent enough to get, to feel, to give, to be, to accomplish.
I don't stop them from forming, but rather from spreading until they've eaten my brain.
I end them as close to their starting point as I can with one simple understanding of one factual truth. Your thoughts are a reflection of your energy level. Your actual physical energy. Tiredness, I believe, is the top instigator of negative thinking. I'm not talking about the sleepiness you feel after a long, rewarding day, or while taking a nap on the beach. I'm talking about burn-out in all it's manifestations, of which it's origin is not the point.
Sometimes our energy is low because our bodies have become sluggish - and a sluggish body leads to sluggish thoughts. The antidote is to move your body. Quickly. Even if you have 1 minute. Jump, run, handstand -whatever you can do.
Many times you will need rest. A time out. A glass of water. A dietary shift or a deep breath.
Here's the best news: The moment you identify the negative thought and trace it's link back to your physiological energy level, is often the moment you end the cycle. Then it makes sense. Then you can give yourself a break.
Negative thoughts are an alarm. Don't ignore them, and don't waste your sweet precious energy on trying not to have them. Instead tend to your energy - it's the richest currency on the planet.
To emotional fitness. Yours, and mine.
All my love,
Jillian
